We take children from pre-school (aged 2 and a half years old) through to school year 13 (aged 19 years old). We aim to help each child fulfil their potential in a caring yet disciplined environment.

ISTD Ballet

Ballet is the foundation of all dance and is known for its discipline, grace, and beauty. Ballet has many benefits
including improved strength, flexibility, and balance. Ballet can also help children build self-confidence, self-discipline, poise, and grace.
Our ballet dance classes are taught by experienced teachers whom have trained themselves at specialist ballet schools who are dedicated to helping children learn the art of ballet. We offer classes
for children of all ages and skill levels, from beginner to advanced. In our classes, children will learn the basics of ballet technique, including posture, alignment, and movement vocabulary.

They will also have the opportunity to learn choreography and perform in recitals and other performances.

Commercial

Commercial is the most popular and fastest growing dance style in the world.

Have you ever dreamed of being on stage with your favourite pop star? Then this class is for you. Commercial dance will include the most popular dance moves of an era and will appeal to the widest possible audience.

Learn the best and the newest moves around and make up some of your own. From popping and locking, Voguing, Wacking, Street, Hip hop and so much more, Commercial dance is known for its high energy, athleticism and attention-grabbing performances.

Modern

If Ballet gives a strong core, discipline and elegance to a dancer, modern dance is the stem from which all other dances grow. It unlocks the imagination and allows the dancer to become creative. Modern dance is the perfect complement to the stricter and more defined movements of ballet.
It uses travelling steps, high kicks, leaps and turns which all need strength and flexibility. As innovators such as Louis Fuller and Isodora Duncan paved the way for the creative expression through the art of modern dance here we allow our dancers to begin to create.

Contemporary

Contemporary dance is a style of dance that combines elements of various dance genres, including modern, jazz, and ballet. It is a fun and expressive form of dance that is perfect for children who are looking to explore their creativity and improve their movement skills.
Our contemporary dance classes for children are designed to be both enjoyable and challenging. Our experienced teachers will lead students through a series of movements and exercises that will help them develop their coordination, strength, and flexibility.

We also place a strong emphasis on creativity and self-expression, encouraging students to explore their own movement styles and express
themselves through dance.

Tap

Tap dance is a rhythmic and percussive dance style that has inspired many famous dancers and choreographers, such as Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, and Tom Chambers. At Performers Theatre School, we specialise in American tap dance, which is the foundation of the ISTD Tap syllabus and is known for its focus on rhythm and technique.
Our tap dance classes are taught by experienced teachers who are passionate about sharing the joy of tap with their students. We offer classes for children of all ages and skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
In our tap classes, children will learn the fundamentals of tap technique, including footwork, rhythm, and sound. They will also have the opportunity to learn choreography.
Tap dance is a very cool and exciting dance style that is enjoyed by people of all ages. In addition to being fun, tap dance can also have many benefits for children, including improved coordination, rhythm, and musicality.

Musical Theatre

From Wicked and Oliver, to Guys and Dolls, Hamilton and Legally Blonde come and live the musicals at Performers.

Focused mainly on dance but including some aspects of script and singing, learn West End and Broadway choreography from the greatest shows the world has ever seen from our specialist musical Theatre teachers who have worked in the industry themselves.
Students have gone on to appear in the West End productions of Matilda and Billy Elliot.

We also host regular masterclasses with a West End Choreographers.

Examinations

Here at Performers, we offer examinations in Ballet and Tap

Ballet

we offer two forms of ballet examinations. Imperial Classical Ballet and Royal Academy of Dance.

The Imperial Classical Ballet Children’s exams are designed to provide a sense of achievement for children who dance for fun as well as those wishing to progress to a career in classical ballet. There are seven Graded Exams ranging from Primary to Grade 6 and ten Class Exams ranging from Pre-Primary to Class Exam 8. All Imperial Classical Ballet Children’s Exams aim to build a child’s technical ability and understanding of the technique whilst developing an innate sense of poise, grace, musicality, and a joy of dance. Royal Academy of Dance examinations offer a wide range of exams and assessments to motivate and reward students of all ages and abilities. They focus is on creativity and musicality, providing opportunities to progress and achieve.

Tap

we offer ISTD tap dance.

We offer Tap examinations following the ISTD dance syllabus working on their new creative and exciting syllabus of American Tap. We are one of the few dance schools in the Liverpool area training students up to advanced level in Tap dancing.
